Cakes are widely seen in celebrations or even special occasions. The presence of cake gives a joyous feeling to the guests that are in for the celebration. It will even be more memorable should the cake be baked by your loved ones. Learning how to bake a cake is simple because all you need to do is to follow the recipe. However, trying to bake a presentable cake is tough. Often, the shape of the cake will turn out different from what you expect and thus this is when the availability of baking tins come in useful.

Baking tins come in different shapes and sizes such as the number tins and shaped tins. Number tins are very useful when you are trying to bake a ‘number’ cake for birthday or anniversary.  It will definitely be more special to see a number ‘21’ cake during a 21 years old birthday than the normal round creamy cake. Using number tins will maintain the shape of the cake without much effort as long as you do not overfill it with dough. Always allow some space for the dough to rise so that the shape comes out as we expected.

Apart from the number tins, there are different types of shaped tins as well. Try surprising your partner during Valentine’s Day by baking a heart shaped cake. Isn’t that sweet and romantic? It will be much more precious than getting him/her any retail sort of gift.

If you are creative and want to come out with some design that isn’t available, you can actually combine several shapes of tins to achieve it. For example, if you are trying to bake a funny cake for your friend’s birthday, you can use different sizes of circle to come up with a clown face. It will be so much fun.

You will not want to miss having the 8 inch round/square and the 12 X 8 inch tins because these are the most commonly used ones when baking a cake or muffin. For a start, I will recommend you to get at least 3 of those cake baking tins. At the same time, you might want to consider getting other kitchen appliances like mixers or mini blenders to make the entire baking process easier. Now, go ahead and start impressing your friends and families with some specially designed cake.
